Siffu River Project

Location: Paracelis, Mountain Province, Philippines

The tentative capacity is 8 MW which was based on the preliminary hydrologic study and layout on 1:50,000 NAMRIA Maps and is herein indicated for purpose of processing of our application for Pre-development Service Contract with the DOE. The indicative capacity is tentative in nature and may still vary on a plus or minus range during the conduct of the comprehensive feasibility studies for the subject site.

Preliminary planning and hydrologic analysis conducted by the Company showed the following salient features about the project:

  • Watershed area: 262 sq.km.
  • Weir site at El 220 meters above sea level(masl) and with a medium high 20 meters run-off river diversion weir, crest level is 240 masl at coordinates Long 121-20-54 and Lat 17-05- 48.6
  • Headrace length is approximately 2.1 kilometers(km)
  • Penstock length is about 271 m
  • Powerhouse is at level 180 masl
  • Above data will produce a gross head of 60 m.
  • Average 4 months rainy season Flow is about 18.9 cms, as basis of rated capacity
  • Power capacity is about 8 MW ( +, -) for 30% of time flow exceedence, and about 52% plant factor subject to confirmation based on the conduct of comprehensive hydrologic study
  • Philosophy for power capacity design = maximum generation, as plant will be tied to the National Grid and the Siffu hydro plant will enjoy the benefit of first dispatch and must buy provision of RA 9513 – The New Renewable Energy Act of 2008 and will be the beneficiary of the feed in tariff.

Status Update

Completed elements of the feasibility studies as of November 29, 2010, include the following:
